	Don’t Watch Watchmen 3:26 am-Turk Comments (0) Bad, Movies Permalink (No Ratings Yet) Fuck Zach Synder ok? Here is a bit from the Watchmen movie Wikipedia entry: Moore adamantly opposed a film adaptation of his comic book, arguing, “You get people saying, ‘Oh, yes, Watchmen is very cinematic,’ when actually it’s not. It’s almost the exact opposite of cinematic.” Moore said that Terry Gilliam, preparing to direct Watchmen for Warner Bros. at the time, had asked Moore how the writer would film it. “I had to tell him that, frankly, I didn’t think it was filmable. I didn’t design it to show off the similarities between cinema and comics, which are there, but in my opinion are fairly unremarkable. It was designed to show off the things that comics could do that cinema and literature couldn’t.” Terry Gilliam did not make a Watchmen movie. Anyway who the fuck is Zack Snyder? A Dawn of the Dead remake and 300 are his credentials? Dude is unqualified to make Watchmen. Gilliam on the other had has made some good movies. And if anyone would have done it right it would have been him. I don’t think Terry Gilliam would have included Night Owl seeing Rorschach die. Or even worse upon seeing said death have Night Owl fall to his knees and raise his hands up and to scream into the night. Another thing that bugged me. In Snyder’s Watchmen the name of the superhero group is Watchmen. Hopefully in the director’s cut they say the superhero team name enough that one can make a drinking game around it. The changes this guy made to the ending also bothered me. Blaming it on Doctor Manhattan seems just a lazy way out. I’m sick to death of this 9/11 bullshit. Water down the ending just because something bad happened? It’s a good thing the Japanese are not such pussies or we would have never got any Godzilla movies. If you want to experience Watchmen read the comic. It’s how the creator Alan Moore wanted it. Or wait for someone with real talent to come along and do the source material justice.

I do the equivalent of having something taped off of the tv by a buddy and have it given to me to watch and I get this shit in my inbox? I don’t see the difference. I don’t have cable. So if I have my friend tape it off of tv will we get hit with this shit when we are trading vcr tapes? For the record I really liked My Name is Earl. I bought the first season on dvd. I won’t be buying the second now. Also I’ve learned my lesson on using external trackers on Demonoid. 	Firefly 5:40 am-Turk Comments (0) Chat, Default Permalink (No Ratings Yet) So I recently discovered Firefly. Now I realize that it’s a case of too little too late. Firefly being the Josh “Buffy” Whedon sci-fi show that just melds the western genre so well into it’s science fiction setting. I only watched maybe one or two episodes when it was on tv. It’s one of those shows that just clicked for me. The movie was also very good. I’m really bummed over it. A great character from a great show. I mourn the show even more. Add it to the list of sci-fi shows canceled before they should have been. It should be mentioned that I dug this show so much after watching it that I had to go out and buy the actual dvd’s of the tv show and movie. I felt that downloading this one from a torrent was sort of dirty. It really is worth the purchase if your a fan of science fiction. Now that moment of silence in honor of poor Wash.

A quick poke over to the official Doctor Who web site shows that sometimes it’s better late than never for us Americans viewers. The Sci-Fi channel will be broadcasting the Christopher Eccleston episodes starting in march. Of course we will have to wait for god only knows how long to get the second series. And when I say wait I of course mean getting it anyways via file sharing. Hurray for torrents!

	New Who 2:27 am-Turk Comments (0) Doctor Who Permalink (1 votes, avg: 5.00 out of 5) Anyone happen to see the new Doctor Who tv show? I did. It’s worth mentioning that I did not watch it on tv. No thanks to those fucks at the Sci-Fi Channel. The guys at the Sci-Fi Channel think the new series is lacking. Whatever the fuck that’s supposed to mean. So I downloaded the first two episodes via bittorrent (thanks Gawain!). And before I enlighten you all with my observation on the new Who let me just cover some news items that concerns the good Doctor. Good new or Bad news first? Bad new first. Don’t get attached to this ninth Doctor people. We only get him for one season. Thats just thirteen episodes and he’s gone. Apparently Christopher Eccleston (Doctor 9) doesn’t want to get typecast because of the role of the Doctor. The good news? The show will go on. The BBC has commissioned a second season of the show. Some guy named David Tennant is in talks with the BBC to be the tenth Doctor. This is what I think about the new show. I’m not sure what I think yet about the newest Doctor. Don’t get me wrong. I’m really happy that this is the Doctor Who that should be on our tv screens. This is a British/BBC based show. I’ll bet money that the new show won’t have the Doctor kissing his companion. In fact if it was up to me I wouldn’t label this guy the ninth Doctor. Nope I would dump that fucking abomination of Doctor Who movie from continuity. That was trash. And do we really need to have ever mention the Master again as portrayed by Eric Roberts? I bet poor Roger Delgado tossed in his grave and Anthony Ainley probably wished he was dead when that movie played on Fox. As long as they keep the this new Doctor Who free of any “Americanism’s” I’ll be a happy guy. This new Doctor I don’t really have an opinion of yet. Sure he has some mannerisms of the previous 7 (I really hate that 8th Doctor bullshit. It was a dream people, a bad nightmare. It’s ok to want to wake up from it.) Doctors. I see some of the good Baker in the guy. A little Davidson. Hell even a touch of McCoy. The guy is just trying to hard. And the thing that sucks is once this Eccleston finds his voice as the Doctor it will be to late. It’s just the story that worries me. Sure it’s only two episodes into it. But so far theres this mystery surrounding the Doctor. A mention of a War he fought in in the first episode that pops back up in the second. And it’s revealed that the timelords and their planet are gone. I just hope that this new show doesn’t forget the history of Doctor Who. And god forbid they actually run with plot elements from that damn movie. I have faith that the new show will do the right thing. Of course as it is with the Doctor only time will tell.
