Man I needed that laugh. Did I mention I’m off Mountain Dew and smokes? That doesn’t figure in with the topic, but it seemed like a good place to blurt it out. been off the smokes for a month. Mountain Dew a few days.

Anyway as soon as my days off swing around again I will let you know. I really need a vacation. Maybe on or after the 30th of this month I may have an extended vacation like in 98.

“S. Beloit Ramada heads to auction” is a news article from the Rockford Register Star that make mention of the poor hotel I work at.

“Ramada will be sold at auction” is an item from the Beloit Daily News that I found interesting. The new GM even got some press:

Reaz Chowdhury, general manager of the Ramada Inn of Greater Beloit, said rumors the hotel is closing because of the auction are not true.

“I want to stress the fact the hotel is not closing,” Chowdhury said. “That’s what people are saying. I think they misunderstand the word auction. Someone buys it and will keep it open.”

“Business is improving,” Chowdhury said. “The books are looking better. We’re just getting out of the winter, but we’re heading for the summer, which will be better for us.”

The statement “the hotel was being sold as a whole, not as a property to be redeveloped” has me baffled though. Here’s the Auction Page again. I guess I find out on or after April 30th what’s going on.

I’m still enthralled by that damn Dungeon Siege. I’m it’s bitch and I don’t mind at all. It really is a fun game. Here is a screen shot showing off the “other computer”. Beware this sucker is at 640×480 with only 16 bit graphics on in the game.

Compare that to the other shots from my computer at home. Yeah I’m bored at work.

Dungeon Siege is currently what has my every waking thought. Damn I love this game. If you have played games for a while the pedigree of this one alone is merit to pick it up. A guy named Chris Taylor made the game. Taylor also did the best Real Time Strategy(rts) game ever called Total Annihilation.

Dungeon Siege is an action rpg kind of like the Diablo series. But then it’s nothing really like Diablo. I’m not going to blab on and on about this game. Here are the shots (1024×768):

Pay attention to the last screen shot, it has one of the things that makes the game great in it. The packmule. This alone makes the game special. That last shot I have everyone loaded with loot. Man it’s cool. You really just have to play it to understand. I will worn you that the Dungeon Siege is one system hungry game. You better hope you have the hardware to run it. Now I’m assuming that $1,000,00 is 1,000,000. I’m a little bummed by our sell price. Do you think the bank thought of this amount and said it like Dr. Evil with a pinky to their bottom lip? And for that matter can me and my friends throw in six or seven grand and buy a room?

I’m telling you we are going to get bought up by some cheap mother-fuckers. I just shudder to think what kind of beast will come in when this is over.

First up I wanted to mention something about the news script I use to update the site. Coranto is what it’s called. I saw that one of you hit me from a search engine looking for examples of it running. I wanted to point out that the main site is kind of out of commission forum wise. You can go to Coronto-the other site for support and help. It’s run by a great bunch of young gentlemen.
