Yeah it’s been a while, again. Warcraft 3 is out officially now. I say officially because I bought my copy at Walmart on the 1st of July. It was out at Walmart as early as the 30th of June. Not a big deal if you don’t know what Warcraft 3 is. But if you do know, it was neat getting it three days early. Here are some screen shots(800×600):

I’m having more fun playing EverQuest this time. Now if I could only get my PC at home to start working again. I’m picking up a hard drive this morning. So I hope that will do the trick.

So playing EverQuest at work isn’t what it’s all cracked up to be. The 28.8 connection was very unforgiving when it came to passing through the different zones. When I zoned I had enough time to smoke a cigarette and go to the bathroom. I’m not kidding. It took forever.

I got some minor twinking done to me. My brother in law by a far out proxy gave me some stuff that probably doesn’t really count as twinking. But it will help out my level 3 barbarian warrior. Kraig who gets inducted into the Northern Elite guild tonight at 10:30 est. time was my generous sponsor.

So now I have accounts to EverQuest and DAoC. I’m not sure if I will play both of them. I am of course finding it hard to give up my level 22 mercenary I’m playing on Dark Age of Camelot. But I don’t want to pay for two games and only play one. So I have a choice to make.

I’m probably going to go with EverQuest. It’s a lot more fun to be able to play with someone you know. And that’s how it is with EverQuest. Dark Age of Camelot just doesn’t have that for me.

EverQuest is another one of those things that make me think I’m starting to have some kind of bad karma, technology speaking. I decided to load it up again and have had some big problems.

First is the fact I had a nice big patch to download. That only took an hour, so I guess it could have been worse. I know it could be worse because at work it took just about two hours with my 28.8 internet connection.

To make matters worse, once I got the game loaded up and picked my server I ran into the next big stumbling block. After rolling a new character up and trying to get in the game I kept getting kicked back to the desktop. I’m hoping it was because I had the computer on the whole day fighting with Soldier Of Fortune 2. So I hope it was because my GeForce 3 was running to hot.

And forget SOF2. I just don’t have the hardware to run that bad boy. My video card is ok. But perhaps my AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1.2 is just not strong enough to play SOF2 with all settings on high. It doesn’t seem right. And maybe it’s because SOF2 is a bug ridden piece of software. I hope that’s the case.

So I have started to play DAoC again secretly. I say secretly because I’m not going to put back up my characters picture or the server status boxes that used to be on the right and left sides of the page. I had lost interest in playing around the same time my Pay By Cash account expired.

In the time since I have opened a checking account and now have one of those snazzy debit credit cards. So I hated the idea of losing my level 22 mercenary and paid for another month.

Of course my decision to go back to Windows 98SE has put my DAoC playtime on hold. On that front I have managed to burn one disk worth of back up files. My success rate is about one out of three attempts succeed. I hope to be running 98SE by tonight.

Here are some Morrowind screen shots. I really am digging this game. Especially after giving up the mmorpg DAoC. These screen shot are at the resolution of 1152×864. It really is a beautiful game graphics wise.

It’s a rpg. But you don’t ever have to complete the main storyline. You can go off and be whatever you want to be and you can do whatever you want to do. Lots of fun. The game also comes with a game editor that let’s you do anything. Check out the fourth shot.

The pacing is a lot different than that of DAoC. Sometimes leveling up seems to take forever. Sometimes all you get to kill at first are rats and crabs. But hang in there it will be worth it.

Pick this game up if you have a nice computer and graphics card. Because this sucker needs some muscle to run.

I’m still enthralled by that damn Dungeon Siege. I’m it’s bitch and I don’t mind at all. It really is a fun game. Here is a screen shot showing off the “other computer”. Beware this sucker is at 640×480 with only 16 bit graphics on in the game.

Compare that to the other shots from my computer at home. Yeah I’m bored at work.
