Well I got the game Shadowbane and I installed it and I tried to play it. My first problem is that the games auto patcher is all fucked up. The first screen shot shows what I’m talking about. It tells me and lots of other people that one or more of the .cache files are corrupt. It advises you to reinstall this piece of shit. And this doesn’t work. Check out this thread at the Shadowbane forums for what the developers tell their paying customers to do. And what they have you do has about a 1% chance of working. Check out pages 9 and 10 of that thread for my comments.

Needless to say I’m done with this steaming pile of shit called Shadowbane. I wish I could return this game. But it was purchased at Walmart and those guys are impossible to get then to give refunds. So my Shadowbane disk has become my new beverage coaster. Stay away from this game if you know what’s good for you.

So I mentioned before how I got into the Star Wars Galaxies beta. The beta is now into it’s third phase. In beta 2 it was hard for me to get any play time in. With beta 3 the servers are up more and I have actually played the game for a long stretch now.

I’m under a NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) so I can’t divulge any real details. But let me say that my opinion of the game has changed. At first I thought it was just a Star Wars EverQuest mod. And maybe it is in a way. But the environments are right out of the movies. And so far I have yet to notice the leveling treadmill that so many mmorpg’s have. I’m sure it’s there, I just have been caught up in the movie like worlds I’m exploring to notice.

The beta has even been getting in the way of my time playing Dark Age of Camelot. Which sucks, because Turk (my main) is still holding at level 39. Of course I’m not quiting Camelot. SWG has a long way to go before it’s in any shape that would make me quit playing DAoC. Time will tell.

Galactic Civilizations is the game Master Of Orion 3 should have been. If you made the mistake of buying MOO3 let me tell you that a true successor to MOO2 is this game, not that piece of shit that is called MOO3. Here are some shots showing off this great game:

Galactic Civilizations is one of those strategy games that are referred to as a 4x type of strategy game. I never can remember what the four x’s stand for, so don’t ask me. It is a fun space empire kind of game and it is tons of fun. Check the link up above for more info than you’ll know what to do with.

Another neat thing about Galactic Civilizations is that you can buy it directly from the developer and download it as soon as your credit card clears. You also have an option to pay five to ten bucks more to get a cd shipped to you.

Unreal 2 has been out for a couple of weeks and I finally picked it up. I was hesitant because I heard it needs a hefty system. But apparently my computer is still hefty enough to get around 30 fps at 1024×768 with almost all settings on high. Sure 30 fps isn’t the best, but it’s playable. Yeah I’m a guy. Isn’t it amazing how advanced these games get, the more advanced boob computer generation gets. Look at those boobs man. Those are some high tech computer generated boobs. But really did you see them? What is it with computer games and women with big breasts? I’m not complaining. It’s just a thought.

I’ve been playing the piss out of Dungeon Siege again. It’s just a fun mindless kind of rpg. Hack and slash is it’s bread and butter. This one has even been eating into my Dark Age of Camelot time. The last time I showed shots of this game they were very boring. So here are six screens that are not so boring.

And I still love that packmule!

Well I just beat Halo on the easy setting. I admit it’s not really that much of an achievement. Not much of an achievement on easy, on the higher difficulty it’s a different story. And again I say Halo is a great game. It is one of the better fps on any system. The PC version won’t be out for a while. At least thats the way it sounds. I was amazed how much better the graphics were when I moved the xbox to a 27 inch tv. The old tv was an ancient little thing, compared to the 27 inch.

I also picked up the Xbox game Mechassault. This another game I picked up because of the guys at Penny Arcade. Mechassault is one of those Xbox Live enabled games, which me not having Xbox Live doesn’t do much for me. But it does have a really decent single player campaign. I’m having some difficulty picking this one up. I’m getting there, but I would get my ass handed to me playing online. So I’m no Mech King, but I’m trying.

I need to pick up a good RPG for my Xbox. I have three choices. Two of them are games I already own. The third game isn’t out yet.

First choice would be Baldur’s Gate:Dark Alliance a great game I played the hell out of on the PS2. I’m not sure I want to buy it again. There really isn’t much re-playability left on that one.

Second choice is Morrowind. Morrowind a game I have had for the PC for a while now. A game I still have yet to explore fully. I haven’t even scratched the surface of what Morrowind can offer. I most likely will pick this one up because it’s out now.

The third game isn’t out yet and there really isn’t a solid release date as of yet. But who can pass up a honest to god Star Wars single player RPG? Man not me. Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic like Halo is one of the reasons I bought the Xbox. Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic is another Xbox title that is supposed to be coming to the PC. SW:KOTOR is developed by Bioware. Bioware are the guys who did the classic Baldur’s Gate games. Again a must buy.

I did some realm versus realm yesterday. I figured out why I don’t really care for RvR. I’m dead more than I like. Anyway here are some shots (1024×768) from a few of the engagements from yesterday.
