Well I’ve tried to be patient with XP. I’m like this close to reformatting my hard drive and installing 98SE. I picked up Soldier Of Fortune 2 and have been having nothing but problems. It seems lots of people are running into trouble. Trouble more or less stemming from that goddamned XP.

I did find a useful Microsoft.com page called How to Manually Remove Windows XP and Restore Windows 9x which I plan to use when I get home. The more I sit thinking about my problems with XP, the more I want 98SE back. Enough is a enough.

The bad thing is that I’m going to lose all of my files. My burner is not working. Again I think it’s the hard drive, but maybe it’s XP. I’m willing to lose files to get back to a stable os. I’m due for a reformat anyway, so what the hell.

The Case for the Empire is an interesting read that try’s to explain why the Empire of the Star Wars flicks are not such bad guys as we all assume. This article is really one of those things you have to read. And it help’s to be more than a little bit obsessive about the Star Wars movies. Here is a little snip from it:

“It’s a difficult leap to make–embracing Darth Vader and the Emperor over the plucky and attractive Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia–but a careful examination of the facts, sorted apart from Lucas’s off-the-shelf moral cues, makes a quite convincing case.” [Read More]

Also this article does reveal some small spoilers about Episode Two. So consider yourself warned if that bothers you.

I failed to mention that my computer problem is fixed. For now. I still think that my hard drive is on the fritz. I still think it has a little to with the last time my pc took a shit on me. I’m may pick up a new hard drive this Monday just to be on the safe side.

So did you see Star Wars Episode II? I’ve seen this one three times now. Three times. I think three times is enough. Don’t get me wrong. I liked it. Of course I could watch Empire over and over. But that’s another story isn’t it? The love story is necessary. Lucas has to set up the whole turning to the dark side and becoming Vader thing.

If you didn’t like it, here’s some advice. Keep it to yourself. If you don’t like it without even seeing it, keep it to yourself. People getting bent out of shape about how much it sucked are wasting their time. Not to mention wasting my time.

Star Wars Geek is the post were I showed off my tickets for Episode I. So seeing how Episode II opens tomorrow officially and the sneak previews tonight I figured I put up the link to my past geekness.

I had talked about how I read the comic book adaptation and how I wasn’t so thrilled about seeing the flick. Well now that it’s just a number of hours away I’m getting that fanboy itch to see it. I’m going to see if I can get tickets for tonight’s late showing. I just hope the movie plays out better than the comic book.

I had a nice little chat with the head honcho of the Coleman Posse last night. We had not ever talked to any extent. A very cool guy is the opinion I came up with. So once again I have to pimp their website. Go there at once if you have not made the trip. He even stroked my ego, which grew even bigger with this quote:

“finally , I get to talk to the famous Turk”

I’m not sure my head will fit through the door now. Gary pointed me to their Supporters page. Upon viewing this page I’ve decided I have to add my own image to it. I just really dig their webpage. So hopefully I can figure out something cool that can go up there.

I’m still waiting on Crackhead Bob to return, as promised. Bob mentioned he had to go se the woman before he got on the net. So he may have been to busy “making with the love” as Jay would say. I’m a patient man. Hurry up.

I went to the barber shop today to get a haircut with Troy and his son. It was the little guys first haircut. Well his first professional haircut. His parents don’t count. Of course the young lad acted like it was some form of torture. I found the whole ordeal kind of hard to watch. I can only imagine what poor Troy felt having to hold his son as he screamed and cried as Jim gave the boy the trim. Jim handled it like the pro he is. Or maybe he was more like the guy who shears sheep.

There was some fuck from Beloit in the barber shop who was making me feel embarrassed to call myself an American. This jackass in the same breath mind you, was telling the barber shop how he didn’t like towel heads (his words) and how he knew the law. That’s the abridged version.

The long. We get there and this guy is talking about how the “towel heads” had bought the hotel in Beloit. So of course I listen to this stupid bastard. He went on to say how the “towel heads” had tried to buy his business in Beloit. He went on to tell how he would never sell to those “towel heads”, but he didn’t let them know that was the reason.

You see this genius explained that if you let them know that was the reason that you would have the whole Muslim nation against him. Also he stated that don’t let them know your a Christian. Because that is a sure way to get them to have a vendetta against you. So I’m sitting there thanking whomever that I’m not a Christian. Not because I’m afraid of the Muslims coming to get me. I’m glad because I’m not one of those bigoted idiots.

You see I have nothing against anyone. I don’t care what color your skin is. I don’t care what deity you worship. I just want to be able to not have to listen to these fanatics. The fact that this guy (the Christian) and the “towel heads” all are covered by those Bill of Rights slipped right by the guy. How can you talk like that? It makes no sense.

But what can you do? And the matter of who bought the hotel I say the same thing. I don’t care. This is the land of the free. The more the merrier. If the Japanese can own most of New York, let these people buy up some of Beloit.
