So tomorrow at 11:00 am I have my interview for a new job. Downside is that I have to go to work at the shithole tonight. I really wanted to be able to go in and tell them all to fuck off. So getting the interview is the good news. The bad news is that it is only part time. Which to this real hotel part time is four days. Depending on the pay I may take it anyway. A job at a real hotel, with real managers, and real owners. Sign me up!

I just checked in a black guy. He works for So And So Trucking Company. Because of that the guy gets a 47.00 rate. As I was checking the guy in this old white guy comes in and stands impatiently as I check the black guy in. The old white guy hears the 47.00 dollar rate. He didn’t here the first part were I tell the black guy the standard rate of 94.00 bucks. I check the black guy in and send him on his way.

I start to check in the old white guy. I tell him the rate is 94 plus tax and get cut off in mid spiel.

The old white guy is like “why did the black guy get a rate of 47.00?”

“Well sir that gentleman works for So And So Trucking Company they get a special rate of 47 plus tax.” I tell the old white guy.

“Why can’t I get that rate?” The old white guy asks.

Baffled because I thought I had just explained I try again “When you start working for that company I’ll be more than happy to give you that rate” I say.

The old white guy smiles and says “I own a trucking company.” Now mind you this old white guy looked like he was a member of some rich white only country club. I did not believe for a second that this old cocksucker owned a trucking company. Nor did I care if he really did.

“Well unfortunately that rate is for that trucking company only. You would be more than welcome to call and talk to sales and catering department to negotiate your own special rate.” I said smiling.

“94 fucking dollars!” the old white guy said as he left the counter and out the door muttering like a big baby.

“Yep 94 fucking dollars” I confirmed to the old white guy as he left.

“94 fucking dollars is crazy!” the old guy muttered as he went out the front doors.

“Yep” I said in agreement. life’s a bitch.

The nosy old bastard should have minded his own business and I would have gave him a break. I can’t stand people who try this shit. They get no breaks and I let these assholes walk right out of the hotel. They can take their business elsewhere and they can go fuck themselves.

In retrospect I do admit I like the idea of podcasting.

Not so long ago I wrote about the new night auditor. This is what I had decided was wrong with this new higher paid auditor:

I literally laughed out loud when it dawned on me what she had done. The new night auditor is fucking stupid. So either she doesn’t now how to balance credit cards or the new night auditor can not read or do basic math.

Which as it turns out this was harsh of me. I overlooked human frailty. What follows is another be a night auditor at home example. These below are the Amex and Mastercards that the new night auditor “balanced” (and again these open in a new window):

Here is the Amex Card Report. And here are the Auditor Mastercard Reports and the Desk Clerk Mastercards Reports (both are needed to balance the Mastercards). With this information it’s very easy to see that what the new night auditor is doing is getting the numbers wrong. 64.00 that should be 64.90 and 109.36 that should be 108.36. It was clear what the problem was:

I finally got around to buying Prey. I really liked the demo and had been meaning to pick it up once it was in stores. I just never found the time. Here are some screen shots:

The whole portal thing maybe a huge gimmick, but combined with the other gimmick of wall walking. I think these two things make Prey unique enough. Plus it’s another game using the Doom 3 Engine that plays great on my system. Which is always nice. I’m easy that way.

For some that will be enough. Now do you think that Star Trek V: The Final Frontier is the worst of the Star Trek Movies? Well take Mike Nelson and add Kevin “Tom Servo” Murphy and you have one of the funniest movies ever. While listening to this during one scene I literally blasted pop out of my mouth as I took a sip while these guys delivered their jokes.

The only downside is that for the 1.99-2.99 you get a mp3. You have to sync it up with the dvd. Either by watching the movie your computer and running the mp3 in whatever media player of your choice. They give you advance warning when to pause their rifftrax and when to start it again with the movie so it does sync up correctly. The only other option I guess would be to burn it on multiple cd’s. Not the easiest of solutions I think.

So if you love MST3K and Hate Star Trek V this is a must have. For 2.99 it is a steal. Just make sure your not drinking any beverages while watching this because there is danger you will spit pop everywhere as laughter blasts out of you.
